INFORMATION SESSION

A free information session with legal advocates, immigrant/refugee rights
organizers, and self-organized refugees is being organized in order to
create greater awareness and education for refugees marginalized and
disempowered through the refugee system in Canada.

Information session with:
PHIL RANKIN (refugee lawyer)
& organizers with Iranian Federation of Refugees & No One is Illegal-Van
<><><><><><><><><><

Friday February 25, 2005
at 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
Collingwood House (5288 Joyce) near Joyce Skytrain Station

Again, this is a free legal information session. In the current political
context of increasing repression against immigrant and refugee
communities, communities are seeking support in various ways, including
access to basic information and support through the legal process, as part
of a larger political movement for dignity and justice for immigrants and
refugees.

The No One is Illegal campaign is in full confrontation with Canadian
colonial border policies, denouncing and taking action to combat racial
profiling of immigrants and refugees, detention and deportation policies,
and wage-slave conditions of migrant workers and non-status people.

We struggle for the right for our communities to maintain their
livelihoods and resist war, occupation and displacement, while building
alliances and supporting indigenous sisters and brothers also fighting
theft of land and displacement.
