Next Meeting of Mobilization Against War & Occupation (MAWO)...

On Monday December 5, MAWO held the second very successful protest picket 
line in two weeks in front of the Canadian Armed Forces Recruitment Center. 
Over 30 people came out to picket, protest and chant to voice opposition to 
Canada’s war-making policies in Afghanistan. The report and photos of the 
picket line can be seen on our website (www.mawovancouver.org). This 
successful action was part of our ongoing campaign to expose Canadian 
imperialism and build an effective antiwar movement in this country.

Further to our movement building work we are coming up to our first ever 
antiwar poetry night on December 9 which is another important step in 
antiwar organizing in as many ways as there are diverse people involved in 
the movement. We are also organizing and building MAWO’s 3rd Annual Antiwar 
Film Festival on December 17th & 19th – we have 16 sponsors for the event so 
far! Remember to come out to the MAWO meeting on Wednesday for these 
organizing discussions as well as political discussion to open the meeting.
