CANADIAN REFUGEE CAMP ORGANIZING MEETING
MONDAY NOVEMBER 29 AT 6:30 PM
PALESTINE COMMUNITY CENTER
1874 KINGSWAY (CORNER VICTORIA)
No One is Illegal will be coordinating a "Canadian Refugee Camp" on Feb 6
2005. The camp will involve participation from various community groups
involved in historical and present struggle against Immigration Canada and
racist border and immigration policies, while making the links to Canadian
policies of corporate globalization and imperialism that result in mass
displacement from lands in the Third World. Some issues to be covered is
War on Terrorism, War on Drugs, Chinese head-tax, Japense internment etc.
The Refugee Camp will also be coordinated with a week of film screenings
and other edcucational events around immigrant struggles, and a
mobilization for immigrant and refugee rights.
We are calling on organizations and supporters to get involved in this
project. The refugee camp is envisioned as a decentralized space for
different community groups to be involved in, and NOII will help
coordinate logistics.
There is much work to make all this happen and we invite anyone interested
to come to the meeting on Monday, especially with ideas and to help
bottomline communication with the various groups involved in the Refugee
Camp.

The No One is Illegal campaign is in full confrontation with Canadian
colonial border policies, denouncing and taking action to combat racial
profiling of immigrants and refugees, detention and deportation policies,
and wage-slave conditions of migrant workers and non-status people.
We struggle for the right for our communities to maintain their
livelihoods and resist war, occupation and displacement, while building
alliances and supporting indigenous sisters and brothers also fighting
theft of land and displacement.
