Immediately following the Bush Election in the US, a major and brutal offensive was launched against the people of Fallujah.

 

On Monday November 8th, US/UK occupation forces descended on the Fallujah in a fury of destruction, death and chaos. 

 

US gun-ships, tanks and warplanes stormed into the city, which is under attack by US forces as a center of resistance and major threat to a “stable occupation”. Bullets and bombs leveled homes and smashed several hospitals. The bombing continued for over 10 hours.

 

The people of Fallujah, and the people of Iraq, have been fighting occupation forces since March 19th 2003 – brutal attacks by US/UK forces have been met with expanding and strengthening resistance. Strikes, demonstrations, mobilization and armed resistance are smashing the hopes imperialists have to establish their interests in Iraq.  

 

As the US seeks to flatten Iraq and pillage the nation, they are slipping farther and farther from their goal. Behind the tanks and warplanes is a desperate face, one that each day is being beaten back and each day sinks further into quagmire. 

 

We, the people of the world, must follow the leadership of the Iraqi people, who are on the frontlines of the global fight against war, occupation, destruction, theft and plundering.

 

On November 20th, the people of Vancouver will flood into the streets to demand: “End the Occupation of Iraq! US/UK OUT! Bring the Troops Home NOW!”
