-Mobilization Against War and Occupation MAWO-
Next MAWO Meeting! Wednesday November 17th
6:30pm
@ Britannia Community Center
This week the US forces siege of Fallujah continues. This assault on the people of Fallujah has become a desperate humanitarian crisis with citizens fleeing, and the thousands remaining without electricity, clean water or access to food and basic necessities. Though the crisis and the scale of the attack is being played down by the US administration and the Iraqi interim government the acting manager of the Fallujah hospital, Salah Issawi, reports that the humanitarian situation in the city is still a disaster. As well, Top UN human rights official Louise Arbour called on Tuesday for an investigation of alleged abuses in Fallujah such as disproportionate use of force and the targeting of civilians.
While Bush is re-shuffling his cabinet and preparing for another four years of assault on the worlds poor and working people, we must keep up organizing and mobilizing against this new era of endless wars and occupations. This gives added importance to the upcoming demonstration against the US attacks in Fallujah this Saturday and the MAWO conference on November 27th, Iraq, Quagmire for the US/UK. Is there an alternative to imperialist war and occupation?
The fighting in Fallujah has sparked uprisings in towns and cities all across Iraq; Mosul, Baquba, Baiji, Ramadi
In solidarity with the struggling people of Fallujah, Baquba and all across Iraq, we must mobilize the people of Vancouver to show our support and demand End the Occupation of Iraq NOW!
See you at the MAWO Meeting! Wednesday November 17th, 6:30pm @ Britannia Community Center.
In Solidarity
