Cuba Solidarity Organizing Meeting 
Monday  May 31  6:30pm 

Dear Friends of Cuba,
As you all must be well aware, attacks on Cuba by the United States are
currently escalating from their already ruthless measures. As if the
attempted invasions, economic strangulation, and persistent and militant
attacks on the Cuban people haven't been enough - the Bush administration
has approved 59 million dollars spending on a renewed anti-Cuba campaign
which seeks to destroy the will and dignity Cubans have fought for and
maintained since 1959.

In the midst of these attacks the people of Cuba have once again shown
themselves ready and willing to defend their sovereignty, their right to
self-determination, as well as the social and political gains of the Cuban
Revolution. Internationally, people around the world have also increased
their actions in solidarity with Cuba and against U.S imperialism.

 As activists and people concerned with social justice, we are sure you
understand the urgency and need to respond to this renewed aggression in
a concrete and unified manner. Now is a critical time to act upon our
understanding of Cuba's importance in the international community, and to
follow their example as they demonstrate continued defiance in the face
of imperialism. We need only to look to Iraq to understand what kind of 
"freedom" and "democracy" the United States seeks to impose on Cuba.

Amigos De Cuba and the Free the Cuban Five Committee - Vancouver invite
everyone to participate in an open Cuba Solidarity Organizing Meeting to
discuss how best to respond here in Vancouver to the United States
threats on Cuba's sovereignty in solidarity with the Cuban people.

This meeting will be held at 6:30pm on Monday, May 31st at 1865 East 10th
Ave (half a block behind Broadway Skytrain Station). If you have any

Solidario con Cuba
El lunes, 31 de mayo a las 6:30 pm

Llamado a la comunidad latinoamericana:

Estimados amigos,

Como todos podrán estar enterados, los ataques anunciados por los Estados
Unidos contra Cuba están incrementando actualmente una escalada de las ya
crueles medidas contra la isla. Como si las fallidas invasiones,
estrangulación económica, y los ataques persistentes y militantes contra
el pueblo cubano no han sido bastante - la Administración Bush ha aprobado
59 millones de dólares para gastos en el incremento de la campaña
anti-Cubana que busca destruir la voluntad y dignidad de los cubanos por
la que han luchado y han mantenido desde 1959.

En medio de estos ataques el pueblo de Cuba ha mostrado una vez estar
listo y  que defenderá su soberanía, su derecho a la libre determinación,
así como para defender las conquistas  sociales y políticas de la
Revolución cubana. Internacionalmente, la solidaridad alrededor del mundo
también ha aumentado sus acciones en defensa y solidaridad con Cuba y
contra el imperialismo norteamericano.

Como defensores y luchadores por la justicia social, estamos seguros que
ustedes entienden la urgencia y necesidad de responder a esta escalada de
agresión imperialista en una manera más unificada y concreta. Ahora es el
momento crítico para actuar en nuestra comprensión de la importancia de
Cuba en la comunidad internacional, y para seguir su ejemplo mientras
ellos demuestran su constante desafío ante el imperialismo. Sólo
necesitamos mirar hacia Irak para entender de qué tipo de "libertad" y
"democracia" los Estados Unidos pueden imponerle a Cuba.

Amigos De Cuba y el comité por la Libertad de los Cinco Cubanos-Free
The Cuban Five Comité- en Vancouver los invitan a participar en una
reunión abierta de trabajo solidario con Cuba. Este encuentro será
para discutir y encontrar las mejores vías para poder responder en
solidaridad acá en Vancouver a las amenazas de EE.UU. contra la
soberanía de Cuba.

Esta reunión se celebrará el lunes, 31 de mayo a las 6:30pm  en el: 1865
Este 10 Ave.  (medio bloque detrás de la Estación Broadway Skytrain). Si
usted tiene alguna pregunta, por favor siéntase libre en llamar cualquiera
