Building a Movement for Self-Determination:
In Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, Haiti and Indigenous Nations in Canada

On May 15th MAWO is organizing a conference to present, assess and discuss the antiwar movement in Vancouver, in Canada and beyond. In the first section of the conference we will focus on the major campaign, Operation: CANADA OUT.  Through reflection and assessment we will develop a critical understanding of our strategy and political aims. 

 

In the second half of the conference we will have presentations on the overall antiwar movement across the globe. Again, we will critically assess the political stage that the movement in currently in, locally and internationally. We will focus on the demand of Self-Determination, following the leadership of people engaged in active resistance; from Iraq, to Palestine, to Afghanistan, to Haiti, to Indigenous nations in Canada. Through this we will open discussion on how to move forward with the lessons of the movement thus far.   

 



We welcome everyone interested in building a movement against war and occupation to join us on Saturday May 15th to debate, discuss and build for the future.
