Demanding the  Release of Ahmad Saadat, General
Secretary of the PFLP Demanding a Stop to the PA
Policy of Political Arrests

Palestine Solidarity Group, and various Canadian
Grassroots organizations are calling for the immediate
release of Mr. Ahmad Saadat, General Secretary of the
Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP),
and all Palestinian political prisoners in Palestinian
Authority (PA) jails.

Since the beginning of the current Intifada, the PA
has continually committed high-risk mistakes, which
harmed the Palestinian National Unity, confused the
Solidarity movement with Palestine, as well as set
precedents for further violations to the human rights
of Palestinians.

The PA, in multiple occasions, considered the
Palestinian resistance to be a form of terrorism,
ignoring the right of people to resist military
occupation. A right that is legitimized by all
international covenants. The PA has also accepted the
deportation of the thirteen Palestinian fighters,
setting for the first time in history a Palestinian
approval to the Israeli racist policy of deportation. 


Handing over the General Secretary of the PFLP to the
American and British jailers is considered an open
invitation to the traditional forms of colonialism,
and will open the door for a US/British manipulation
of the Palestinian Internal Politics.

We are calling upon the Palestinian Authority to
immediately obey the popular demand for the release of
Ahmad Saadat and all Palestinian political prisoners
in the PA jails, and to stop its blind concessions to
the Sharon government conditions.
