	Dear Aicap,

Today, the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee met and voted on the
Sentencing Reform and Corrections Act (SRCA, S. 1917). The committee
decided, by a vote of 16-5, to pass the bill out of committee! This
bill would help many federal prisoners and their families if it is
passed.

FAMM supported the bill in our letter to the committee earlier this
week, and we specifically asked the Senate Judiciary Committee not to
water down the sentencing reforms or limit the retroactivity of those
reforms. The bill was passed with no additional changes. The committee
heard us and listened!

We do not know yet if any bills will get more votes or pass this
year, but FAMM will continue to try to improve any bill that moves
forward. We'll keep you posted on how it goes and what we learn.

Thanks for supporting our work in every way!

	Best,
 Molly Gill
